Im far from cash strapped and drive a 206 but only to stop me spending thousands on modifying, No 4wd and No turbo have helped me to start spending my money on my house. Ive had high powered (300bhp +) fwd cars before and to be honest i wouldnt have another.

I just can't imagine a mansion with a 206 parked out front lol

Even for the money conscience, and non-show offy among us, there are better alternatives to a 206 for similar cash, I don't mean to slag off the 206, because despite its rattles, I love mine, but my next car would be a Golf for sure

Not for me there wasnt.I only wanted to spend £2k on a car and the 206 Gti180 came out the best option for me. Fair enough it does rattle a bit and it doesnt handle very good and its slow but i still like it. Shocked

I would agree with that except the bloke i brought mine from had almost a mansion,he also had an Aston martin,Bentley continental GT and a porsche GT3,sadly it wasnt an RS.
Tight git brought the 206 for his misses and she never drove it,good for me as it very low mileage. Very Happy

We aren't all cash strapped, we dont all run 206s as everyday cars.
Some are running their cars on a very tight budget others aren't and still have other cars.

I got my 206 nearly 10 years ago and have kept it all that time. It's now a summer toy and a very decent example too.

2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

Well of course a 180 is going to feel slow compared to that lol

Calm down lol, all I'm saying is that there's very few people on here that would buy that their 206.

Considering that I would assume the majority of cars on here aren't worth more thsn £3,000ish

It feels slow compared to alot of cars on the road. Im surprised at how many cars are as quick or even faster than the 206, Couldnt even pull away from a woman in a volvo C30 diesel the other day.

Obviously not driving it right.

I've pulled away and overtook a medicar running blue lights on the motorway

Well im not cash strapped either, i could easily afford to run a new audi tt or something in that region and i have a nice apartment to go with it, but i save alot of my money, i enjoy the 206 and fixing all the problems it has along the way, but i wouldnt be that much of an enthusiast to pay 6 grand on giving it a few brake horse power, no chance!! the only reason i bought my 206 was because its good on diesel and has a bit of power compared to most but the more i drive it i want to improve it but il not be spending a fortune on it, i think alot of people just get obsessed with their car because spending that amount of money on a 206 is just insane!!

Obviously its just a slow car anyone can drive a car to its limit in a straight line. Why would anyone want to over take anything with blue lights flashing, sounds like a Gay thing to do to me.

its probably because you were used to driving something with alot of bhp the 206 180 seems slow, its like someone who has a corsa 1.0 then buys a 206 180 will then think its a rocket

Not that I was racing (because in all honesty, why bother)

But I managed to beat an ambulance to a hospital once, they must have had someone in the back of it because despite having the blues on, they weren't exactly speeding

It just seems slow for the power. I know they dont have 180 bhp but they are pretty close to it and its not exactly a heavy car. I drive a van all week which Isnt fast at all. Im just surprised at what ordinary cars can keep up with it.
