Do the mirrors still move about, ie angle? Wouldn't have thought both would fail together?

I think you underestimate how s**t those mirrors are, I had to replace 3 in 2 years on my 180.

Mine have been fine since I repaired them Laughing

Cheap spares or complete mirrors are hard to find, they normaly go for silly money. ive got enough bits for a couple more rebuilds if needed.

I did have the pcb burn out on one before.

I couldnt get mine apart to fix them stupid things Rolling Eyes

Getting them apart is the easy bit, its getting them back together thats more of a challenge Whistle...

Never did find a supplier of the special rivets used so long counter sunk self tapping screws to the rescue.

Secret is - pack the folding motor & gearbox unit full of Vaseline to stop it rusting up again in the future.

Same folding unit is used in a lot of mirrors, there's only a couple of component manufacturers suppling them to all the car manufacturers.

No idea who makes them but the folding mirrors on mine are made by Magneti Marelli.

Magneti Marelli on European-make cars .. Lexus is liable to use a Jap company for it's electronics .. probably better quality too!
