what would cause my service indicator to go from 14500 down to around 4500 overnight losing some 10000 miles before service is needed?

Not too sure, I thought when you reset it, it counts down from 12,500 not 14,500.

Service spanner works on TIME or DISTANCE whichever comes FIRST Wink

I get the feeling this will be a car not driven 20k miles in 2 years so the BSI will go by TIME for the servical interval which means it will loose lots of miles on the spanner warning as the service gets near.
