Hi, has anybody retrofitted original rainsensor in a 206 non-mux ?
I have access to a 206 GT from 1999 that is being scraped, it has the original rainsensor. So far I have the following parts:
Rainsensor
Rearview mirror + surround
approx 50cm of wiring for the sensor
stalk behind the steering wheel
Do I need more than this? I know I need to have a new windshield, but right now I just need to get the electricities sorted.
Has anyone done this before?

You'll need your BSI tweeking to turn it on i think, and the gel pads that hold the sensor to the windscreen.

no BSI in anon-mux?
I also need the gel pads yes, but I recon they come with the windscreen or with a "sensor fitting kit".

The rain sensor and alarm wiring are integrated and join to the BSI
You need at least a midrange BSI

A lot of work considering all you have to do is move your finger two inches now. Oh wait you will still need to move it to turn auto wipers on anyway. Plus they are s**t.

Hmm then I might also need the GT's BSI.
My car is a 2001 HDI XS, the donor is a 1999 GT.

If you change BSI you will need to change 95P08 in EDC15C2

But to turn the wipers on, he would have to move his hand away from his d**k.

Some people think they know everything and won't actually take advice from someone who has forgotten more about a 206 than they will ever know.
A bit of friendly advice, if you ask for help, accept it otherwise you will end up with nothing but problems. If you already know everything about the rain sensor then why bother asking in the first place.

As Suicidalsoldi3r said, you need to switch the Auto Wipers on every time you get into a pre-plexed 206 anyway. In my opinion, a pointless mod and is a lot to spend out on something that doesn't gain you a great deal.
I wouldn't bother, but it is your car, and therefore up to you what you do with it.

They are crap anyway I am always turning them off and on again, even when they are on they let the screen completely fill with water before deciding to wipe it off.

I agree with Harry, and everybody else that say auto wipers are rubbish, If i leave the stalk on auto they don't work, I have to turn them off then back to auto, and they have a (demented) mind of their own, sometimes when it's chucking down they may get round to having a casual wipe and sometimes it may only be spitting with rain and they'll go mentally fast for a few seconds.
I know they sound like a cool idea but they can be just plain annoying.
