I had 17ins on mine for about 4 years, had no problems, but I never drive like a fool

I had 17s on my first 1.1 206, gearbox was fine, wasn't noticeably slower, didn't scrape
ignore the the info police if you want 17s fit 17s
edit: (may scrape if you lower it depending on offset and tyres, and how low you go)

had 17s on my 1.1 didnt scrape until you put some weight in the boot lol
