I have just fitted another gti engine into my other gti and been driving it this week and have noticed that when i let off the clutch there's a knock from the front and when i go over a bump with the n/s wheel it knocks. Havent had a look yet due to work. Any ideas?

i had a knock when starting mine form having the timing belt done etc it turned out to be a mount that was not quite tight enough try that for the knock around the wheel check droplinks are tight other than that im not sure

Droplink, Driveshaft, Top Mount, Ball Joint... Could be any of them.
