think my oil dipstick may be wrong as the end is slightly bent over ? Ive heard they sometimes have a plastic bit on the end and was told its probably snapped off. Its a 1.4 Hdi and so i was wondering if anyone can help in the way of measuiring there 1.4hdi dipstick length from the top to where the full mark is and again from the top to the low level mark.
This would help me out greatly as i have a GTI 138 dipstick lying around and could mod it to check my oil. Gonna get a proper one from ebay when i get paid just need to check it because i have a slight oil leak.
Thanks.

I know the gti dipstick has a flattened straight end to it, people recommend to get the ph2 dipstick as the plastic corrodes on the top of the ph1 dipstick

my ph1 dipstick kept popping out so i got a ph2 one so far its stayed in
i checked they were the same length and the new one was a few mm shorter
if you have your origional dip stick measure that and i can measure my old gti one im guessing there the same, if they are you can get a ph2 gti one maybe, could have my old one if desperate

Get the correct one from a dealer. They're normally less than a tenner and some have been modified
