Picked up a CC this weekend and it is almost perfect. Noticed a few hours ago that the cabin fans don't work. When I press the ac button a little green light comes on, but nothing else, no fans, no clicks, no increase in rpm.
I read this
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...44745.html
So had the ac regassed. This hasn't fixed anything. I have only driven 1mile since.
Any thought on what to try next? I have read a guide on the heater resistor, but it seems like this is for when some fan speeds fail, not the whole fan
Cheers
Phil

Sounds like the whole blower motor is knackered.

Is that the bit behind the glovebox? If it is, do you know if the unit from a 1999 1.4 will just drop in? Is there a difference between ac and non ac units?
Just read through the ac diagnostics guide in the hot to forum and realised just how little I know about this engine...

A duff resistor can cause the motor to either constantly run at full speed or not work at all

Is this just normal air conditioning or does it have climate control?

Think it'd be normal a/c as he says about the green light coming on

Yeah, its the normal ac version, not the climate control model.
I am sure the answer is obvious but how do I test the resistor? Just put a multimeter across it?

I would remove the blower motor and directly power it up. If it works, that would point me towards the resistor.....

I was hoping someone could offer some advice on how to remove the blower. I have been able to access it but I just cant seem to turn it,
I have got to this point (not my photo)
4.bp.blogspot.com/_-Ef...G_4333.jpg
but when I try to rotate it, it seems rock solid.
Some sets of instructions say anti-clockwise, others say clockwise. Can someone say definitively whether the but with the sticker on should be rotated to the top of the car or to the bottom. Also, do you need to push the blower in at the same time as rotating? Can anyone recommend a tool to help? Access is a bit limited and I cant seem to get much torque onto it.
I have checked for a bolt in the hole at the top and it is clear.
Cheers
