I'm sure that I shouldn't be able to see the pistons? Inside, shouldn't they be covered by the baffle plate?

What are the problems with it missing?

AvHh this is doing my tree in

there not the pistons but i dont think there's anything wrong with that and to remove the rocker cover on those engines i think you need to remove the coil pack

Had a look and from the Haynes all I can see is that I need to remove the HT lead I think it was called that. But in the Haynes it has the splash plate meaning you can't see inside the gasket. Would it cause any problems if it wasn't there.?

I've taken my rocker cover off my little 1.2 corsa so many times it's unreal due to breather hoses always clogging up, ( common fault ), anyway on that it was just a case of removing the wires that atatch to the coil pack then undo two studs in the top of the coil pack and pull the coil pack from the spark plugs then unclip any pipework that is attached to the rocker cover and move them out the way and finally slip out all the bolts holding the rocker cover down, really easy job and I know mine was a corsa but still most rover covers are just as easy to take off as another, obviously just stick to the basics of removing coil pack, breather pipes and bolts, simple Smile
