Brakes didn't work and then completely failed, had to use engine braking and the handbrake to get back Laughing

Not entirely sure yet, this was a few weeks ago I still haven't had chance to look. My guess is master cylinder failure or a leak somewhere but I couldn't see one

Will get it running perfect for the next track day though

haha ok well as you see in the video above i am catchn a 306 gti-6 turbo but on the straights he pulls away..my specs are purely for a windy track like mondello as my engine is standard apart from an oil cooler.

standard gti 137 engine
k&n panel filter
lightweight fibreglass bonnet

brembo 4 pot calipers
carbone lorraine rc6 pads
307 hdi 283mm solid brembo discs
406 v6 master cylinder with 306 gti-6 reservoir
exact braided hoses all round
abs removed and brake lines re plumbed
motorcycle clutch reservoir attached to gti-6 reservoir
halfords racing brake fluid

tein fully adjustable superstreet coilovers on front
tein adjustable dampers rear
carbon fibre strut brace
22mm rear anti-roll bar
battery located in rear

pirelli pzero rx7 racing semi slicks
fully stripped out interior
heaters abs air horns every possible bit of weight removed from engine and interior
poly carbonate windows
omp seats steering wheel and 6 point bolt in cage
sparco seat belts

think that about covers it

looks good, glad it went well, i thought my brakes squeeled badly lol

couple of questions
how did you get the master cylinder to fit and did it keep the pedal feel as mine is low down especially on the track when warm
and did you have much fade in the brakes mine are standard discs and pads but i had quite bad fade on the last track day

i no the squeel was crazy haha dats the carbon lorraine pads for you..
well regarding the master cylinder when i had the standard 1 in it was awful the pedal would almost hit the floor..i bought a v6 master cylinder and just bolted it straight on to which i simply fitted the gti-6 fluid reservor (i will take a pic for u 2m nd post it up) and the pedal is now rock solid, there was absolutely no fade in the brakes all day..I was out braking so many cars on the day and i mean it was crazy maybe 20m if not more, later than some I cannot stress how good they were I also had racing brake fluid added and sticky track tyres.. had you this in your own on the day?? also the standard discs and pads are fairly poor u will cook them fairly easy!!!

no all i had was standard stuff wiht some dot 5.1 fluid, i have some braided hoses to get on, i assumed most of the fade was due to the pads and discs but as you say the pedal does travel alot with the gti mc

the problem i had with the v6mc was that it was slanted to one side meaning the fluid wouldnt fill right and the possability of trapped air not getting out

would i have to do what you have regarding the clutch reservior or was that your choice to do it
the braking power is good enven with the problems i had i was outbraking some lighter cars like 106 but i think it was 2 laps of rockingham and it faded to the floor without abs kicking in so i wasnt over doing it lol

ya i think the standard pads and discs are the issue get urself some upgraded 1s carbon lorraine pads if u can afford and brembo discs, this will completely reduce the fade along with some decent fluid trust me on the pads forget greenstuff yellowstuff ferodo GET the carbon lorraines haha
did you try fitting a gti reservoir or a gti-6 reservoir to the mc??the gti will not work the gti-6 will
the clutch reservoir was a last minute make shift job but it worked great maybe there is other options but for me it was fine also have you standard calipers or brembo as you only need a master cylinder upgrade if you are using brembo 4 pots
