Car went in for MOT today and the only thing it failed on was the horn not working; weird as I checked it before the MOT.

So I took the fuse out and put it back in again and it worked... until I got it to the test centre and it wouldn't work again :@

Changed the fuse and it still doesn't work properly but will sometimes. The guy down there said the horn might be faulty but if that was the case surely it'd never work? What's the best way to get the horn off to check as I really dont want to be taking off the whole bumper to do it.

Is this not to do more with the contact point behind the airbag?

Same thing happened to me. I thought it was the Steering wheel fault, but it was the horn. It would beep now and again, but eventually died. It is a bumper off job! When you change it, turn the trumpet towards the car, crap place for the horn to be as it takes in water. Also check the terminals for corrosion.

Probably a corroded connection on the horn itself.

Check the relays in the engine fusebox.

You can hear the relays clicking in the fusebox ok. I suspect it's the horn or connections, stupid place for a horn anyways.

It'll be the connector that's knackered. Usual poor placement of things in the car, like having the ECU under a vent which water gets in.
