Yes, VOSA have cocked up again. Just pull the cluster out remove the airbag light bulb and you'll get a pass and advisory on the airbag as long as nothing else fails

Airbag light is a fail.
Taking the bulb out may be a pass but with the light on a lot of systems are totally disabled. Passing the MOT is one thing but crashing and airbags don't inflate is something you won't want to experience.

You what.
So if you're correct, if the bulb blows (giving the same effect as removing the bulb), the whole system will no longer work?
... Somehow I highly doubt car designers are that stupid.

Ash...read properly
He's saying, that the airbag light is on for a reason and with it being on the airbags won't deploy. So he's saying....is a MOT pass (removing bulb) worth having no airbags in the event of a crash...?

My Hilux doesn't even have air bags but I would still rather crash in that than in my 206
Even if you take the bulb out/de-solder the LED if the light does not come on on ignition it will fail the MOT. Unless you know the tester obviously

No it won't.
It will be an advisory.

Why even discus how to disconnect the bulb and if that is an MOT Pass or Advisory. Find out why the bulb is lit and fix the problem.
With the light on there is every chance that your airbags are deactivated and will not deploy in a crash.
Making the light permanently off will not magically make the bags deploy in a crash. There is no point having an MOT certificate in a frame over your hospital bed. Or it could be your sister's, girlfriend's or parent's hospital bed the fact is you don't get to choose when the accident happens or who is in your car at the time. However, you do get to choose if the system is working correctly!
I know which choice I would make.
