Ouch. Hope it failed at low speed. Left a nasty mark on your wing though.

Oh dear. I had a cheap set, they lasted 6 months and the joints felt like they were going to fall out.
Sticky this

Buy cheap, pay twice
There's a picture floating about 306GTi6.com of a cheap wishbone where the mount for the P-bush sheared right off

It's french.....buy expensive, pay 27 times, buy cheap, pay 54 times. Either way everything wears out quickly!

Cheap or expensive; ignore the clunking and squeaking and any ball joint will do this in the end.
I also notice they are relatively new tyres, I bet they were put on because the play in the joint caused the tyres to wear very prematurely. A new wishbone is cheaper than 1 tyre. In fact, if you fit them yourself, a pair of wishbones is cheaper than 1 tyre!
Some won't agree with that but with my discount I can often get QH wishbones (leading and VERY reputable aftermarket manufacturer) for £28 incl. VAT.
If you live near Swindon I might supply and fit for a reasonable fee.

The exact reason that it's lucky I work at a pug dealer, before I went to Plymouth in May, I gave my car a little check on the lunch break and found it needed N/S track rod end, O/S wishbone and two new tyres as front were bald as a result of excessive play in the wishbone and track rod. If I hadn't have driven it into the workshop on my lunch break, I was told if I were to touch 80 on the motorway, this exact thing would have happened.
