It's hard to describe as it isn't massively noticable, but when i accelerate (soft acceleration more than booting it) when cold, its very slightly hesitating every second or so. Slightly jerky. Any ideas?

I think that is normal as my car does it as well.

I normally open garage, start car, reverse out, close garage and get some music ready. By the time I reverse of driveway the car is warm and ready to go

got a similar problem with my GTi (not a 180 tho) just the timing belt done today and asked the guys at the garage what it could be. they said its more than likely the "coil Pack"

My symptoms were a little rocking while idling, hesitation and shuddering while in low speed/gears and only seems to drive smooth while travelling at pace.

the part from pug direct to the garage is seemingly 167+vat .... however ebay have used ones going for around 50, i've got a thread open just now titled "GTi coil pack and check strap" trying to find out the best way to sort this problem with minimum cost

Just bought a 206 GTi
