It's an exhaust. If it's not hot, there's something wrong

Is it actually glowing?

New exhausts have to burn in generally.

Yeah, the back box is supposed to be hot. As Seabook says, it can melt bumpers.

Don't worry about it

That was my thinking may be it's just the coating/baffles inside burning in, I can't say I've ever tried to touch my ss tip when I've bin for a drive as common sense sort of tells you it may be hot lol.
In fact I've know people that have burnt/melted the edges round the exhaust before so maybe they do get quite hot.

Aint nothing to worry bout mate, there designed to get hot as they have the exhaust gas flowing down them. I hD the s/s tailpipe on my old 206 glowing before where i managed to get it so hot Smile

I have a Janspeed on mine and when it's raining you can hear the hissing as water falls onto the tail pipes lol.

It's connected to a combustion engine that is designed to ignite fuel the exhaust takes away all the hot gasses

I think meady may be stretching the truth - to see steel glowing, even in darkness, it would need to be at 400°C. If the tail pipe was at 400°C doubt if the bumper survived more than a few seconds.

To be visibly glowing in daylight (depending just how over cast or bright a day it was) it would need to be between 525 and 580°C = 1000°F

Tail pipes do get hot but that hot?

However, a diesel car fitted with DPF doing a regen can reach 600°C in the DPF! Don't park on dry grass or over a painted garage floor and do a forced regen! Nor on your tarmac drive for that matter.
