hey. changing my clutch on my 2.0 hdi as it started slipping yesterday. i have 2 questions:

first of all how the f*** do you get the 3 gear linkages off, im a mechanic and have no idea how to get them off without bending/ wrecking them



also do you have to take the gearbox mounting stud out of the box?

1) Gear linkages can more easily be prised-off by using a 12 or 13 spanner as a lever, then gently at first
working it at the correct angle followed by a massive yank.

2) I think you just need to undo the stud nut and don't forget to lift the box up to take-up the slack when re-tightening it.

I know how you feel with these. I need to replace the gear selector input shaft seal but i haven't been able to move the pin/bolt that goes through the shaft and the linkage!

If you're talking about the securing pin, hammer and point in the correct direction. That means hitting on the opposite end to where the 4 grooves can be seen on the side of the pin head.
Then use a brand new pin when re-fitting (they are very cheap genuine).

got them off now and the box is out but the input shaft sleeve where the thrust bearing runs on has a massive groove on one side where the bearing has been catching. now we know why the clutch went,.

Fit a new one and use a dab of molybdenum grease, on it only.

Its always worth checking the price on a genuine part from a Peugeot main dealer, plenty of people on here have been shocked to find certain genuine parts are cheaper from the main dealer then going to a motor factor for a non genuine item Wink

and the quality on such items is guaranteed to be excellent.

I think that piece is around 10 GBP IIRC.

I guess mine is super tight then. i have tried to turn with mole grips and hammer the pin out from the correct side. I stopped as i feared i would damage the box internally.
