hi there im now to the site,
i have a 206 2.0 hdi 2001, i have a rattle/knock when my car is idleing and also driving in up to around 2000 rpm, its seams to be from the gearbox area, the noise slightly changes pitch when the clutch is pressed but only slight, i have drained the gearbox oil and put new oil in (correct spec) and the old oil didnt have any pieces of metal ect in it as id have thought.
i am really stumped here as noise is always there no matter clutch position,
my clutch also bite very near the top if this has any significance.
i have read it could be input bearing, release bearing or pressure plates does anyone have a suggestion many thanks
andy

it will never have metal piece in the gear oil as there is a magnet inside the gearbox to trap the metal piece

I get the feeling this will end up with needing a new clutch kit being fitted sooner rather then later.
