Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a repost, I have had a scan through but internet connection at work is just plain terrible!

The other day I was happily driving along, all of a sudden my stereo cut out Evil or Very Mad

Today I have checked wiring and fuses etc, but it all seems fine. I have got my display working and when I set it up, it said 'radio out'. It is still lit up though around the power button on the left.

Checked wiring to speakers also and changed them while I was at it, and also discovered that the passenger tweeter has done a runner!! (If anyone is selling some, please get in touch)

So, is it common for the Blaupunkt units to just stop working all of a sudden or is it something ridiculously simple I am over looking??

Any help is appreciated as I miss my music Sad

Thanks
Mike Cool

Any other electrical issues?

Sounds like a lose wire.

No other electrical issues that I am aware of, everything works fine, sounds fine etc. Checked all wiring, none seem to be loose or damaged.

Really quite baffled!

On a little further inspection of the car, I did come across 2 wires that appear to have been disconnected (by cutting) on purpose and tucked behind the panel inside the boot. They should be connected to the pressure switch for the alarm, in the boot lock.

I doubt very much this would affect the stereo but I can only assume they were disconnected for a reason? Do they go faulty at all?

Regarding the stereo, I have disconnected, checked fuses again and again but still no joy, guess the unit has just given up Sad best look for a new one...

The boot one sounds fishy. I'd get it wired up and working in case you have a break in.

Re. the stereo.. It does sound like a odd one. Can you try installing someone's after market stereo just to check your wiring is all sound (no pun intended)?

I have a couple of old units at home I could try, will give it a go when I get chance. I will probably change the unit at the end of the month anyway, just bugs me that it won't work now!

I will be reconnecting the wires at the weekend in the boot Smile

Must have been the unit itself, I fitted a Pioneer 7300BT into her earlier, fed the microphone cable through up to the drivers 'A' pillar, tested it out, works perfect!

Could be something as simple as a resistor in the unit that tripped, who knows..

But... problem solved Smile

Did you reconnect the boot lock wires?? Just been rummaging around in my wifes 1999 206 1.4 and found exactly the same, two wires to the the lock purposely cut???
