I have a Peugeot 206 GTI SP 2000 which was standing for a couple of months and the battery went flat, I charged the battery but it would turn over but would not fire up. I then jumped it from my other car and still no joy.

I looked online and found out about re-setting the BSI. I did what was discussed but no joy.

I had the car taken into Peugeot main dealer and they have said it could be the BSI or ECU and that because I jumped the car this had damaged because I jumped from a more powerful car and probably a power serge which I do not understand as these are fuse protected. They can replace the BSI but no guarantees and if it does not work then the ECU would need replacing.

Anyway would appreciate your advice if you agree , can they be fixed or replace with a re-furbished/2nd hand units or if has to be new how much would that be
?

Worse case scenario just replace the bsi, ecu and ring transponder will work fine

I probably have the correct set somewhere pm if you want it

Did they check if ECU was unlocking?

Checked fuses and multifunction relay?

Doubt BSI will be knackered, probably just ECU. I've recently just sorted one for a guy on here for £140 that had a similar problem.

If you have to replace the ecu mate, DO NOT go to Peugeot, I got a secondhand ecu, had it uncoded and then re-programmed for £230

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

Hi Lee, we are in Kent, near Orpington, is that anywhere near you that you could sort this one as well ?

Hi,
Is your ECU a Magneti Marelli IAW 48P.10?

Thanks
