Realy? I've actualy never heard of any go wrong with them I know 2people with the gti and no problems. I was just thinking if you got a out the factory turbo lump it would be like 'made for it' insed of turboing an engine that shouldn't have one on so would Bd more reliable. But sounds as if it's not that reliable lol.

Sod the 207 GTi...use its engine - or the one from a Cooper S. Small, light and although not sure how an aftermarket ECU can deal with direct injection, I think it would be a great conversion. I'd certainly consider it as an option.
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

I’m not a big fan of any of the EP engines doesn’t matter what car there fitted to. Timing chain problems, thermostat housings, cam sensors, vvt solenoid valves, coils, head problems are just some of the issues. I had one with broken piston rings and seen two with the timing chain tensions lose from the factory.

The EP engines are utter s**te.

Work this logic out, lets fit a cam pulley thats floating (eg one centre bolt) but not have a woodruff key. Sensible.

The modified tensioner system that costs over £700 doesnt even work, and lets not forget the general 207s love for water ingress.

Oh did i mention that the 207 EP6 (not EP6DT) runs a s***ty MA box? Laughing
