now finally have the car mechanically sound, albeit needing a new cat, i want to get into remiving the interior, just a few questions

- will removing the carpets make the rubber door seals less bulky and therefore let water in, as the carpet is underneath the seals? - as in most cars

- removing the front seats - obviously the XSi has both front airbags, will removing the seats cause these togo off / throw up a warning light on the dash, ultimately the car will have 2 buckets and harness (or pass retains normal seat & 3 point belt and driver has bucket / harness setup), or is there a pin to prevent the airbag going off, like on a corsa b (for those that have owned)?

any help would be appreciated and any extra advice / warnings to please

cheers in advance

Before removing any airbag connections, disconect battery and switch sidelights on and leave for 30 seconds to a minuite to ensure any charge built up is drained.

if your car has airbags in the seats and you remove the seats and replace them with bucket seats which do NOT have airbags, yes you will get airbag faults, not only will that be an M.O.T fail but your airbags will not work if you ever crashed.

Swop the airbag ecu under front ashtray for one from a non plexed 206 with just driver / passenger front airbags & seatbelt pretensioners fitted.

You can then remove the 2 side airbag ecu's bolted to the inner sills.

I'm assuming they blow.

Why the hell would you connect the battery with the ignition on anyway.

Just stripped out my gti at weekend and was amazed at the amount of sound deadening! Door seals are all fine.
