Would you not need to remove the texture off the dashboard? Or did you still want it showing?

What about the passenger airbag? the airbag is designed to burst through the dash covering.

I can never understand people removing safety features from a car. They are normally there for a reason. Track cars fair enough because they normally have extra safety built in, but normal road cars with some of the morons that are driving nowadays should have all the safety systems they were built with maintained in full working order.
At least your passengers will have a good claim of you if you are involved in a collision (whether at fault or not) and they get injured because you turned off their airbag. Where there's blame and all that mullarky.

not every car has a passenger airbag and if someone hits me its not my insurance that gets effected when they claim anyways so whos arsed ?
if i want to remove my passenger airbag to make my car look nicer then thats my decision the bucket seats and a 4 point harness is better protection that a normal seatbelt the cars soo low for people sitting in the back anyways so dont need the rear airbag IF and only IF i crash im sure a harness will hold a person in place and not let there face smash off the dashboard so is there really any need to pin them into his seat and slap that poor person with a airbag ?
Thank you for your constructive criticism but its not needed on my posts

That is a fair point snd pretty funny at the same time.
+ if you did have airbags on. I'm pretty sure some vinyl that is 0.5mm won't stop it bursting out at like 200mph.

I think that's an estimated airbag speed not the actual car ![Wink Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)

Karisma was talking about the explosive force of the airbag I believe. Not car speed.
Anyways you should get more than 149. With your 3l shouldn't you? I hit 142 with my 138.

If through a reckless action you cause injury to a person in your vehicle, then you are liable for their injury claim.
Disconnecting a safety system would be classed as a reckless action. The insurance company will know that airbags were fitted as standard and then begin investigating why the passenger one didn't deploy. Since you have already told the world that you're disabling the airbags, it won't take long for an insurance company to find that information, although they should know already when you inform them of the modification.
As for not affecting your insurance, the other parties insurance company would likely argue that injuries wouldn't have occurred if the airbag had been functioning and lay partial blame on you, which would affect your insurance. Hypothetical situation, but who knows what's around the corner.
