Hi eveveryone, sorry my first post is a one asking for help but have searched the forum and still can't find any answers..First of all i have have had loads of problems with the car, starting with overheating, which was the fan motor and relays, those replaced and all good on that front..Then there was eractic tickover and here i think may be the cause of the problems, i have just replaced the idol control valve and reset the ecu...all was fine until i went for a bit of test drive, where the speedo started to shoot up to 90mph and wouldnt come back down, just for the record i reckon the fastest i got up to was 60mph Very Happy I got back home and the speedo has settled on the 50mph mark when parked. Is it possible i have done something to the speedo by resetting the ecu? or do you think it may be just a coincidence and the speedo was on its way out anyway? Cheers for reading and sorry its such a long post, great forum as well Cool OOOOPS FORGOT the car is a 206 1.4 1999

Is a preplex speedo meter, i am sure will be the cluster motor on your speedometer. Due to the design, the plastic pin that hold the gear broke off and the gear get stuck into certain position. If u turn off the engine, the speedo flip a bit. Keep turning your key form off to on, then back to off. the needle might drop back into zero if your lucky.

U have a choice, either buy a secong hand speedo unit that affect your milage or change the cluster motor casing for (£30 parts only). But if u are good enough on diy, u can modify the pin and replace it with metal pin with a solder and glue. I did this mine and cost me nothing apart from the super glue and a clip. Message me if u want to give it a try, i might able to give a some detail instruction.
