does any one no if the 1.6 HDI and the 2.0 HDI run the same wiring loom? Smile

I'm not after a loom I just Wondering if the looms are the same? Im pretty sure the 1.6 HDI has a oxygen sensor but i no the 2.0 HDI hasn't.( I Have a 2,0) I would was wondering if its possible wire one in :] I might be mistaken tho :]

Well an oxygen sensor / lambda sensor makes the mix between the fuel and the air a bit more equal which means it will produce less smoke ( not that there is a lot anyway ) And should there for not waste as much fuel.

That's the way i see it any way Smile

The ECU would need the capability of doing something with the lambda signal...which it won't have.

yeah i no that but could i use the software from the 1.6 HDi aswell?
As mine will have an intercooler soon enough :]
Its just an idea that i had that's all.

This is why im asking so i dont need to buy the parts if it wont work? :]

am i the only one got confused here?

i seriously doubt 206 1.6 HDi has lambda sensor; although newer diesel engine which meet euro 5 emission might have one.

diesel lambda are way more expensive than those in petrol since diesel run very wide air fuel ratio; from over 200:1 when idle up to something like 15:1 or even richer under full throttle. Diesel fuel got anti foaming agent and will f*** up cheap sensor in a sec! Not to mention without proper DPF the soot produce will f*** up the lambda in no time.

And more important; like edward said above. your ecu will not be able to run lambda. and you can't swap the ecu.

Good good i'm Glad we have finally have an answer :] Like i said it was just an Idea :]
But i can tell you that a 1.6 HDi GTI has a lambda / Oxygen sensor :]
And also i was going to swap the ECU just upload / Upgrade the Ecu.
But as you have said it wont work.

yeah it is Pluged in to that stupid DPF system :]
Can you see what i was thinking now?
Il do some reserch and see what i can come up with but for now its a NO NO :]
