I own a 206 HDI 1.4 litre Verve 2006 reg. First time ever, it would not start today. Engine turns but does not fire up. Thought it might be damp plugs but can't get cover off to access them. Can't find any clips to loosen and worried about breaking cover. Can anyone help please?

Hello macca. Thanks for that. I had just realised a few minutes ago and logged on to note my mistake. I think I have been so used to petrol cars in the past. I guess it means a trip to the garage. Thanks again

Hello both. Thanks for the replies. I have found out that there was air in the fuel system. By sqeezing the small, hard, rubber balloon connected to the fuel line, I could see air bubbles pass through and then the car was able to start. I think a visit to the garage is still called for to find out how the air is getting in. I have never let it run dry so I suspect a leak somewhere which is allowing the air in.

1.4 HDI has a known weak spot for letting air in to the fuel system, 207 suffers from it as well.

I didn't know that although I have never had this trouble before in the 6 years I have had the car. Any idea how it gets in and how to get rid of it?
