Hi,

I have just bought some QH (Quinton Hazell) brake discs from my local motor factor. I didn't really pay much attention to detail so if the part is incorrect that's my fault! I have put the front brake discs on fine, but the caliper won't fit? It fit the old brake discs. Could this be because these may be rear brake discs they have given me (my rear brakes are drums) or just the incorrect part. I'm also not sure whether my car is 16v or 8v which might also be a problem. I have a 206 1.6 GLX 2000. Anyway I could find this out? And could someone please provide a link to maybe Ebay/another site with correct front brake discs please?

Many thanks!

Simon

The discs would be smaller than the old ones if they gave your rear ones. Chances are you've been given discs for another peugeot like a 307, which use the same diameters, but will have the wrong offset causing the disc to sit further in or out than the correct ones. Take them back for a swap, they should be obliging to help you.

Disc must be slightly thicker than the stock disc, you will need new calipers

Thanks for the replies, any ideas on calipers and where I can get these? The brake discs seem correct, on the box it states 206 1.6i?

Did you move the caliper pistons back before removing old discs?

Might be the wrong offset. The gti 138 changed offsets around 2002. Just take them back if there wrong. Are they vented or solid?

This is before I actually put the piston back on. The caliper that holds the brake pads won't fit.

Thanks, won't be using that motor factors again! He actually took a book out, I told him all the info (year, engine size etc.). Although why does it say Peugeot 206 1.6i on the box if it doesn't fit? Is it possible this is for newer models?
