Can hear a slight blowing on my exhaust have had the car in the air and checked the scorpion system and that isn't leaking so it must be coming from the cat up towards the engine.where could this be blowing from and it looks like a b***h to get to as wel or am I wrong

There are two possible answers there mate . Either your cat is cracked but if it was the blowing would be loud . The other is that you have a little blow off the exhaust manifold or on exhaust manifold . Both of these may be hard work if you have not done it before as you would getting in behind the engine . I take it you have a GTi from reading your other posts ?
I have the 138GTi and the first time I took a look at my exhaust when the cat broke , I struggled a little but once it was done and I knew how to do it it was p**s easy . Give me a shout if you need any advice .

I changed my manifold last week (1.6 16v with cat on the manifold)

Wasn't difficult. Just time consuming as you have to remove the power steering pump and alternator and their bracket just to get at the last bolt on the manifold. Annoying!

Got one for £35 posted on eBay off of a 307 with the same engine and it looked brand new and fitted fine

I don't know what to do tbh because you can't hear it when the car is ticking over but when you get to about 2 n a half 3k revs you can hear it

Just take the heat shield off of the manifold and have a look if there are any cracks or holes

Why don't you just take it to an exhaust place and let them look at it, then give you an estimate of the cost of fixing it or show you the issue? They won't have the part in stock so you won't need to commit to it then.

could be the manifold rattle that gti have

failing that remove the manifold (can be easily done from above) check it all over on the floor then use assembly pase on the re fitting(could be the join not being perfect), cat blowing it noticable from all revs i had a pin hole in mine and could tell over the sound of the exhaust,
