Hi all
Just had the 206 fully serviced, cam belt water pump and my old problem with oil in the water tank was most likely a hg that had already been replaced.
Saturday drove to heathrow and back then got in car hour later and wouldnt start, engine turned over but wouldnt fire up.
AA came out and jacked up left side of car (was low on fuel) and gave the underside of the fuel tank a good bang and it started fine, drove straight to petrol station and put in.
drove to work and back twice and then tonight get in and wont start again same problem, tried smackign the fuel tank again but no luck.
does this indicate a fualty fuel pump? AA said it sometimes 'gets stuck' but there's a quarter tank of fuel in there and car wasnt on a camber.
left it overnight but has anyone had anything like a faulty petrol gauge reading more fuel than there is?

Had this problem once, think it was electrical. Cleaned up all the electrical sockets and seemed to fix it.
Project Low and Slow.. Going Euro for 2013. Keep your eyes peeled, big plans ahead..

i've got a similar issue with my gti where i drove to and from work last monday, wasn't ticking over properly anyway but wasn't cutting out, went to use it on the wednesday and it wouldn't start, would turn over but that was it. When you try to start yours does your engine temp gauge needle move 3 times from cold to hot?

hmmm. same this am, wont start.
gave the fuel tank a good bang but no joy. appears heaters and AC are not working now either? Does this most likely indicate a wiring problem?
Will get the AA out this avro in the meantime. dont really want to spend out much more on this motor.

fuel pumps easy, its under the back seat, lift the squab, might have a metal plate you have to take out, unscrew the o ring around it and lift the pump out after disconnecting the 2 fuel lines and the electrical connector. Then just put the new one in place and connect it all back up.

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile
