Hi guys i was just wandering if someone could give me a list of tools i will need to change the headgasket along with the timing belt and water pump thatnks

im not being funny but if you have to ask what tools you need to do it i doubt its a job you can do.......

Feeler gauges for valve clearances.
Morris 1000, Austin 1100, Escort Mk2, Fiat Mirafiori, Alfa 33, Alfa GT Junior, Alfasud, Alfetta GTV (2x), Alfa 164 3.0 V6, Alfa 164 2.0, Alfa 75 V6, Alfa 156 2.4 (diesel remapped 200bhp), Alfa 147 GTA (3.6 295bhp), Alfa 159 (diesel remapped 245bhp 300ft.lbs @ 2500rpm)

i would have though if you lock the pulley you don't have to measure that?

I thought that the 1.4 8V had adjustable rockers. Would you do head gasket without checking clearances and completing the work with a full service?

No one has told him to get the head skimmed yet. Will he know that?

Full service adds filter wrench (or screw driver and hammer) and is the sump plug a bolt needing a spanner or recess needing an allen key or similar?

Any special tools for resetting the cambelt tension?

I have a basic tool box, with sockets etc. i want to attempt to change it myself dont care if i mess it up, i dont want to stop half way needing a tool because i live far away from any tool shops, my friend said i need a certain tool to tight all of the bolt with the same tension, is there such a tool? Thanks

Torque wrench.

You need a Haynes manual for the differtent torque settings for the nuts / bolts.

Not sure if some are also angle tightened.

Toyota C-HR GR Sport 2.0 Hybrid with JBL & Alcantara packs.

Im always happy to help with advise on here if some one wants to attemp a fix or has a probably, but I have to say by the time youve spent cash on tools etc and then hope you fix my advise would be for you to take to a garage or get some one to be there with you who has a basic knowledge of changing a head on a car.

I know we have to start some where and stuff but i recon a head gasket on a first job its running before ya know how to suck ya thumb.

Mind you maybe you do have the knowledge and not the tools?

How do you know you need a head gasket out of interest?

Head-bolts will need to be torqued-up to 25Nm first (torque wrench) then stage two is angle-tighten 270 deg (angle gauge).
All bolts have to be done in a specific order and you need to study a Haynes manual first, then pray you don't do more harm than good. Valve-clearance adjustment is a must as well imho and that requires skill and trial and error depending on the condition of the specific engine.
