Why all the hate? i am here to request help from fellow members and not to get evaluated about my preferences and whether it is liked by yourself or not.

Other than that, thanks everyone for your support it is highly appreciated, moreover my front grill does not hold fog lights in the first place therefore i will be wiring them to the fog light switch.

if you are wasn't build to have fog light in place that will not be as easy as you would have though

I do have the "switch" for fog lights in on the same handle as my light switch, when i switch it on, it lights up on the dials in the dash (a small fog light symbol). but my front grill does not have fog lights installed in it, but the switch is there.

If you only have one fog setting on the switch you more then likely only have a rear fog light.

Are you sure the tell tale isn't for the rear fog?
First movement forward of the switch is the front fogs, second movement forward is the rear fog.
Front fog tell tale has the lines to the left (angled down slightly), rear fog has horizontal lines to the right.
The front fogs will only turn on when at minimum the sidelights are on, which sort of negates the need of DRLs if you wire them up to this switch. The rear fog should only come on when dipped or main beam is on which if wired to this switch not only makes them a pointless add on, but also illegal to drive due to the rear fog being lit.

Last thing you would want is to turn your DRLs on and look like a t**t by driving round with your rear fog on too. You'll get burnt eyeballs by the people blinding you back using their main beam Shocked

If you must have them, you'll be better off wiring them up properly through a relay so that they come on as soon as you start the engine, and turn off when you turn the dipped beam lights on.

saying that HID (even the proper one fitted by dealer, like those on X5 or new hatch back/saloon) still 10 billion times worse than fog.

I can't stand any of the HIDs. Some of them do give better light output, but the majority just seem to be there to make pretty twinkling lights for others to look at and to make your car stand out. Seems that at some point they are always going to dazzle you.

At least you can adjust your mirrors to stop the HIDs being in your eyes though. When you're behind one of the t**ts who drives with their rear fog on especially on a wet motorway, it's a pain in the a**e trying to distinguish fog lights from brake lights.

Thank you all.

That's the rear fog light tell tale in the picture.

Start your engine and turn your headlights on. Then turn the stalk forward to turn your fog light on. Get out of the car and have a look at the back and the light in the middle of the bumper should be lit. If it's not, turn the stalk forward a second time just to make sure.
If it's not, you need to start tracing the problem. Change the bulb, it's easily removed just by putting your hand under the rear bumper. If the bulb still doesn't light up, it's time to get the multimeter out and see if power is getting to the connector. If there is no power, check the fuse using the multimeter, not by eye. If the fuse and bulb are both OK, it's time to start checking deeper into the cars electrical system. At this stage, phone a professional auto electrician, or at least someone who knows what they are doing.

Without a working rear fog lamp, you'll fail the MOT.

I notice the speedo is in KM/H, so this leads me to assume the OP isnt UK based so mot test wont apply Confused
