if i happened to get a ECU as long as it is for a 1.4i would it be ok for the 8v and the 16v to use the same one or would they have to be different ECU's?
Nope, you need the correct one for you engine, there's been plenty of different type ecu's used on the 1.4 so you MUST match the model numbers on the sticker!
Also a used / new / 2nd hand ecu will be locked because of the immobiliser, you would need to get it unlocked before it would allow you to start the engine.
Sorry to hijack this thread but i cannot work out how to remove my ECU on my 206. I have removed the front bolt but i cannot seem to get to the 2nd bolt at the back of the ECU to remove the tray as i want to check the ECU Earth
