Hi All,
i`ve a 206 1.1 51plate that i`ve owned a week, ran like a dream until last nite when i gave the coil pack, plugs, injectors (you get the picture) a liberal does of WD 40 type spray.
Now ive got a misfire, the EML light flashes and a fault code P0300 which i believe is Random/Multiple Engine Misfire.
I removed the plugs which are Peugeot well worn so i`m replacing those with Bosch tomorrow, should i replace the coil pack?.
After ive done this, should it still misfire what should i be looking at?

Hi,
You should change the plugs and see if it still misfires. Check all the connections over a loose one could cause problems. If you still have a misfire then change the coil pack.

Question..... Why did you spray the things listed above with WD40 or as like substance?

Haha Coopskin, in answer to your question the reason I sprayed everything around the ignition with a WD40 type substance was last time I owned a petrol car they had plug leads,coils distributor caps n points, all of which used to suffer from damp in the winter months, so I thought I'd give myself a head start by spraying WD 40 on everything before the damp beat me to it

Ah, that's some old style engines.....you may find that you have got some of the substance in the coil pack connector, I would disconnect it, get as much off the connector and the coil pack as possible and reconnect. See what that does..

Hi Coopskin,
Fitted new Bosch plugs tried different coil pack and maf sensor still get error code 0300random/multiple cylinder misfire, will try to get compressed air to blow out grey connector plug and take it from there.

Hi All,
Tried using compressed air in the connectors to no avail,still getting a misfire and code 0300 (random/multiple engine misfire).
Going to try a new coil pack if nothing else it'll remove it from the list of possible faults.

you better start off with cleaning every electric connection point with proper cleaner first.
WD40 is oily stuff which do no good to electric stuff

Hi All,
after further investigation this weekend it appears my misfire is leavng no1 plug wet with petrol so a new coil pack on its way if if that dont cure it we'll start on the wiring.

Hi All
Fitted new coil pack and hey presto no difference, so ive checked voltages to plug and 3 of the 4 wires have 14 odd volts when its running but 1 the green with red tracer only has a nominal voltage, ive checked continuity back to virtually the ECU and there's no break in the wire.
So my first question is should i have voltage to the green with red tracer wire? I'm presuming so
Secondly does this mean my ECU has gone capput?
Last question how expensive is it to re-code another ECU?

Hi All,
Fault turned out to be an Injector,1's completely goosed and anothers on its way so 2 injectors later n finally were up n running.
