Firstly hi, I've been very grateful for a lot of helpful advice from the forum already.
I've just bought a 206Gti 180 which is in need of a cambelt change and I was wondering if anybody on here could recommend a good value garage preferably in the south of the UK?
I have tried contacting gti180boy as I would be willing to travel to get it sorted out but I think he is pretty hard to get hold of at the moment and possibly not offering his usual services.
So...any other garages / member recommendations gratefully received!
Ben

I'm between two addresses- Guildford and Bristol. I have tried local dealers / specialists and they all want a fortune - £500 up to £850!! (The £850 was Renatec in Brisol - name and shame!)
I know this is only officially 4.4 hours work and the bits are about £130 so i don't get where these quotes come from!

A cam belt is no where near 130 for your car.. unless its a chain, which I doubt

No but the kit might be. |
Still highly doubt that, when the kit for the standard 2.0 gti is only 40?

The parts with water pump, plus full kit including tensioner and bottom pulley + coolant come to £130-150.
Main dealer quoted 4.4 hours (at extortionate rates) plus £180 for the parts with no water pump.
