Need help.. Rear axle on my 1.1 is knackered .. I bought the bearing repair kit from Peugeot fitted it this morning but the shaft on the beam where the bearings sit on is the problem I seen a kit on eBay that includes a replacement shaft. Does anybody know how to change the shaft on the beam?
Would appreciate some help guys

you need proper tools to do it.
normal garage or even dealer will not be able to do this.

Recon rear axle with a warranty is always the way to go with these.
Unless you have access to the correct tooling for repairing a worn axle there just not worth bothering with.

proper big size hydraulic puller and press.
The cross membrane arm will be pulled out together with the stud.
so forget to rebuild it yourself, it is impossible.

We have both at work
Don't get used that often but there both handy bits of kit to have in a workshop

No chance, I wouldn't even bother rebuilding my own let alone somebody elses
If it was my own car i'd just order up a recon beam & fit that instead.

Secondhand axle will cost between £80 & £100 non abs normal drums, reconditioned £250. All plus delivery, depends on age of car, how long you want to keep it and if you have the money for a recon. I fitted a secondhand and two months later the bearings went again, lucky it was covered by a 3 month warranty.
