Hey guy and girls

Have a couple of things I just wanted to ask about before I go ahead and buy them.

Front number plates; if wanting to fit a smaller front plate what size is best to go for without attracting the rozzers?

Samco hoses; is the cooling system on the 180 the same as on the 137, i.e. the length/shape of the coolant pipes? Got my mot in march and thought while the car's in the garage I could get them to fit a set of samco coolant hoses

I've got a 470x100 smoked front plate on my 180 which is the same size as the recess that it's meant to go on and also had this same size on my XSi and never had a problem... passed MOT as well with it.

Give you an idea of what the 470x100 plate looks like on the front;

Looks good, but not legal as far as I can tell from the photo.

The font size and spacing is all the same as normal sized plated. Spoke to the local police and they didn't see a problem with it as its all within the legal specs inc the reflective backing.

Here's my legal spec plate-

I cut this down myself to see what it'd look like. I've got a legal one made up, just ain't got round to putting it on yet.

always wondered with private plates with less digits if you could legally trim the edges down or not was unsure weather the plate still had to be the same size or just the letter size/spacing?

Despite what you were told, like mine its still illegal. The problem being there's not the correct markings.

this has been done before cant remember who but someone started a list as they said if enough people were intrested they would do it but there was only a few people who were willing to do it Sad even the normal gti kit only does the 2 rad hoses none of the heater or other hoses are part of the kit which is a bit poor.
i think the reason they dont do them is because of the complicated cooler built into the lower hose so would take some quite fancy moulding to make that.
