Well I am annoyed with myself. Bought an 05 quiksilver hdi 16 yesterday (I know they are slated on here but be nice!) and today I tried to fit a new head unit.

Thing is I didn't disconnect the battery first, my fault I know, and now the car is in eco mode and won't start. It will turn over but it won't actually fire.

I know this has been covered a lot, but I'm not the most practical person with these things, so if anybody can give me any advice on how to go about fixing this without paying out lots of money.

Blown fuse, very common issue when people d**k around changing the head unit.

Which fuse is it that would have gone? F15?

And how sure are you that it's only a fuse, I'm dreading it being something much worse!

Because about every 3rd person that changes the head unit on a multiplexed 206 manages to blow the fuse Wink

The immobiliser runs through the same fuse, that's why it will turn over but wont fire.

206 immobiliser doesn't lock out the starter motor.

Thanks guys, panic over hopefully!

Is it fuse 15 that I should be checking? Because it looks remarkably small and i can't see an obvious break in the contact wire?

It's a 20amp fuse in the box under the steering wheel, can't remember which number though. Think 5 rings a bell but not too sure

Sounds like a blown fuse - whip out the old multimeter and see if current flows through fuse 15 or 5 (take it out from the box first though!)
