hi there users,
forgive me if i am not in the rite place as I said I am a first time Peugeot owner and new to this site, I have a Peugeot 206 Roland garros 1.6 8V W-Reg (2000) I Have had the car for 4 weeks now and been having alot of problems but i am getting the problems fixed when i come across them, one of the main problems i have is that the key fob i was given did not open or lock the car at all, so though that maybe a new battery was needed, so got a new one and that did not fix the problem, so then i thought there was a problem with the key fob its self, so i got 2 fobs and 2 new transponder chips and tried to get the fobs to work but still no joy, can someone tell me what i can do the get the fobs to work with the car, i have done the closing the door turning car on and off with window open and holding button in for 20 secs etc, all that stuff did not do a thing, can someone please help with this problem point me in the right direction Confused
thanks in advance

Dom

I think the remote fobs need pairing with the BSI using dealer software. The transponders will definitely need pairing. A someone similar to these guys can usually do it.

Hi there macca1411
and thank you for your reply, Do I need some kinda pin code for the "lock smith" to gain access to the ecu/bsi to make the fobs work, I have been reading online that there should be some kinda credit card with pin that is unique to the ecu/bsi system which I don't have, how do I obtain one of these and how much for, again thank you for helping me out with this....

Kind Regards

Dom

Local dealer will get the code for you. You will need log book and ID etc and it will cost you. Not sure how much. I had to do it on my Astra several years ago was about £100 I think?.

The dealers charge about £45 to get you the code on a printed card. Think it's about £20 if they just look it up on the computer.
You might find a friendly parts guy who will find it for cash Wink

The auto locksmiths seem to get round this by using cloning software. Don't know the ins and outs though.

That chap is a legend. hellish quick service and reasonably priced. gave me the code to program a new key for a SW. worked like a treat. Thats only to program the key to start the car. there's a process to make the remote central locking work.

I know someone who had a similar problem with his renault clio172 snapping the key and he had a right carry on costing around £275with renault reprogramming his key...it was gonna cost over £400 nut he managed to get keys chip off internet saving money and if he had eanted 2 keys it would be double...madness really to think that they incorporate these high prices to avoid criminal activity expecting that by making all this so expensive that it will act as a security aid...mental...
