Manged to hit some standing water that was fairly deep. I didn't see it in time to slow down.

Car has the engine diagnostics light on.
The air box had water in it.
The filter was damp.

My questions are..

Symptoms:
- Engine Diagnostics light is on.
- Will rev past 4K. I thought Limp home mode won't allow this.
- Feels like I am driving a NON-Turbo.
- Turbo surges sometimes.

- Is it in limp home mode. It revs past 4K ??
- What cable to get (recommended seller) to run Pug Planet off ?? Are the £70 Lexia-3 ones off eBay any good?

Currently have the whole airbox off. making sure there is no water in the intake pipework.
Replacing the Air filter.

Now worst case I have a buggered turbo, due to ingress of Water (it's not compressible)

Worst Worst case, water got into the engine and I have a slightly bent rod (but i am thinking it may not get past the turbo).

Will the Engine Diagnostic need resetting EVEN if I fix the problem??

Need some inspiration.. Feeling a bit down Sad

PUG 205 2.0 Hdi pre-plex '00

(What a awfulll hole to put the airintake.. Is there a mod other than induction kit)

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

personly i would just dry out all the parts you are doing, get some water displacing spray/contact cleaner spray all electics you can find and i mean all use the whole can if needed (i find gt 85 quite a good one ) and put it all back togeather and see if its ok and take it from there.
i got a little 1.4 derv on a 04 works van and than has been in water so deep its run in the doors and thats never missed a beat.

I am hoping..

So if Engine Diagnostics light is on. Will it be in LIMP home mode? Does it restrict the Power?

As I said.. Feels like a NON-Turbo, every so often it will surge.

Will this have to be reset, or will it clear it self?

Currently drying out the intake.
It's made of a Fabric material. What's that about. It's soaking wet ???

The plastic covering was ripped so that didn't help.
Going to seal that up.

not sure on the dia light as mine has never come on tbh maybe its surgeing because its not getting the air it needs because the filter is blocked (due to the water in the filter) tbh for what they cost i would just put a new air filter in it.

fair play mate as said also try to spray all electics with spray if you can as water in any main plug will not help you. ok you proberly never going to get it all out but the more the better once the car is runing hopefully the heat from engine will dry the rest out over time.

Instead of covering all the electrics in WD-40 or similar why not just disconnect all plugs, dry them and reconnect? Will be much more effective.

The electrics are dry.. I was coming home when it happened.

OK all dried, new filter in. It feels better.

Just hasn't got a surge of the turbo that it did have.

TBJ, as I've only had it a couple on months not sure if the surge of the turbo after 2/2.5K is normal. OR it had issues when I purchased it.

Still doesn't pull as strong.

Just realised there is a Spanner symbol and number next to it when first starting.

Number is 9700 if that means owt to anyone.
EDIT: OK.. that's 9700 miles until service

2.5k revs is when the turbo will kick in. It should feel sluggish till 2.5k then it will pick up when the turbo spools up
I think what your describing is Turbo lag

OK.. Well it deffo don't surge like it used to.

Just pulls from 1K all the way through.

Looks like I still have issues. Going to try and find a garage to read the error.

But at this time of year it's proving to be difficult.

May have to wait until I get a Lexia3 through the post. Been meaning to order one anyway.

It may have surged due to the wet filter restricting airflow
