Did some searching but couldn't find any other problem like this after 20 minutes of reading so I am gonna ask now.
Last month I was listening some music while my car was switched off as I was changing some settings on my amp. I listened to 2 songs twice (each song about 4 minutes long). Was done and then tried to start car and then it said economy mode active and couldn't start car.
Yesterday I was vacuuming my car (car switched off and door light switch off) with one of those small vacuum cleaners that you plug into the 12V socket. After about 10 minutes I was done and tried to start the car and then it said economy mode active and couldn't start car.
This is weird to me because in the past if the car was switched off and you used power for too long it would automatically say: "Economy Mode Active" and then it would switch off the electronics to conserve power. Why doesn't my car do that anymore?

Thanks. I wanted to go and do that now. Tried starting the car and is flat again, lol.
Just charging it now so I can at least get to battery place and replace it

Sounds like the battery is getting on a bit.
Also Eco mode doesn't shut down all of the electrics, found in mine that in eco mode my cig lighter is still active as well as the windows. My HU is also active because the switched ignition is wired to the cig lighter.

well when the ECO MODE is on,without having the ignition on,nothing work, even the door light is off,Head Unit off,you can't turn the headlights on.
So about your car, check your battery before things get to late, and that can cause you trouble in the short run.

My headlights/sidelights still work when the car is in economy mode. It's a legal requirement in the UK that if you park at night on a road with a speed limit greater than 30mph, then you must display a parking light.
