Hello, please can someone help me to fix my leaky pug.
I recently fixed the front drivers door from leaking and thought I had fixed the leaks but today when cleaning my car I noticed the rear drivers side footwell is full of water. I lifted the bottom of the back seats up and there are pools of water there so I then checked the boot. The interior carpet and foamy stuff underneath are soaking wet  I took all the carpet out of the rear and sat inside whilst someone sprayed a hose at the car. Water flows like a river from what looks like my rear lights?! I cannot see how the water is getting through the lights and I really would like to fix this properly rather than leaving towels wrapped up behind each light.
I would love to fix the leaks as my car has bad condensation and freezes on the inside when its cold

It's isn't to do with your boot not sealing properly is it??? Because the block that the boot catch lands in can come loose so the boot doesn't shut properly, so if this has happened (like it did to me) and the previous owner has moved the block back up and tightened it up again (the holes are slotted so it can slide up and down) the boot could be catching into the block before the boot lid has properly sealed.

Use a toothbrush and clear all the drain points, id take the lights out and check behind them too.

It will be one of the rear lights not sealing to the car body as it did this on my car and it took me ages to discover where the water was coming in. All I did was use electrical tape over the hole leaving a small gap for the wires to go through for a tempory fix until i got a set of phase 2's

There should be a foam seal between the lamp unit and the bodywork. If it's not there then one can be easily made using foam carpet underlay and a bit of silicon to hold it to the lamp unit. Once the lamp unit is tightened up into the bodywork, it creates a watertight seal.

I had water coming between the lights and the car, I smeared the foam(on the back of the tail light) in silicon grease and this stopped it

Thanks everyone, im going to have another look at it today. I will try to seal the lights a bit better first and if that doesnt work I will try another of your suggestions. I need to have a look at the boot catch too as I checked seal but not the catch. The water seems to run down the far edges of the boot which made me think its the lights. I will let you know
