As i was driving home this evening i came off the slip road on the motorway put my clutch down and the car just died it then continued to do this 7-8 more times all the way home, if the car is at a stand still and the clutch is down its fine, just when you are in motion and the revs are up, my dad is a Mac Tools proprietor and is going to ring round some mechanics tomorrow to see if they can fit me in in the morning but to save time and hopefully money i thought what was the harm with asking you guys. So any info would be a great help thanks (y)

Knackered battery. The alternator is working overtime and it sucks the life out of the engine before it has time to up the idle back up. My battery used to do it until it was charged up.

As a short-term fix move the pin that holds the accelerator cable in place up a notch, it will increase the idle speed.
