I thought I had destroyed my car as driving along and it said oil pressure insufficient cut out and lots of oil leaking. Thought it was the sump but after looking it appears to be this part here? Think it's something to do with the oil cooler as it attaches to the part in front of the radiator by metal pipes? Just need some clarification on what it is and would I be able to upgrade to a better oil cooler if I'm having to fix this?

Something to do with A/C. A/C doesn't use oil as the gas is the lubrication. Is there still oil in the engine?

That cylinder is the drier for the air conditioning. The metal pipes behind the bumper are for the power steering.

it wont be leaking oil thats just s**t that gathers on the top sticks to the grease
the pipe thingy you have circled just pushes together and is held in place by a spring! but same again its something to do with the AC

Maybe the seal on the fittings has gone and leaked the air con oil out.

It appears to have done that but then why would it cause the engine to stop? I'm having a look all round that area tomorrow see what I can gather from this......
There is a seal burst from the looks of it as there is a metal ring loose on the piping hut like I said how would it effect engine and oil pressure?

In the second pic you can see the metal ring on the pipe I have pointed out which is loose and I had never seen it like this before .... wonder how it's effected the car and made it stop though? Did get a strong weird smell in the car through the air con when it happened.
