Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else on here has the same issue concerning the catalytic converter warning with their 206 GTI.
My gf has a 52-plate 03 model which I think is the 150bhp model. She's had it for 4 years and all along she's had a recurring issue when the car is coldish. After about 300 metres the car beeps and a catalytic converter fault warning comes on the display. This has been happening for the entire period of ownership but the car has continued to drive fine.
A quick Google finds a few results for CC models (presumably the same engine) where owner have paid hundreds to have work done with the warning persisting. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same warning?
Thanks,
Adrian

If its the"anti pollution fault"that pops up then yes...ive had full exhaust changed and its still appearing so i just ignore this warning and have done for a year or more...incidently i didnt change exhaust to silence warning i did it just because it was rusted to bits...

Could do with a new lambda sensor or two. If it only does it when cold it could suggest the heater in one sensor is past its best.

That would bring up an engine warning light though. Did on mine. Best thing would be to see if there are any faults stored.

Not necessarily. I had a lambda sensor fail enough to fail an MOT but didn't light up the ECU light.
