Hi I have a 2005 Peugeot 206 verve. I recently brought it but now when I brake it sound and feels like something I swinging under my feet (on the drivers side). It also cuts out if I try to take off slowly without revving it loads. I know nothing about cars at all and would much appreciate if someone would be kind enough to inform me of what might be going on in the hood or under the car?

It is probably cutting out because you are stalling it. Try adding some more revs. The lowest I can get it to go without stalling is around 1200. At what RPM does it cut?

If you have to rev a lot, the clutch might be slipping. Does the brake pedal 'pump' or vibrate?

it has to get to about 3000 revs before it will moved and it doesn't cut out like its stalling it shuts down slowly like the lights dim and stuff I have to take my foot off the gas completely and rev it again. And the brake pedal feels fine inside the car, but when I brake its like a pendulum start swinging underneath the car the strange thing is you can hear it from inside the car but not from outside the car ????

Whats that got to do with an engine stalling at low revs?

Your description of the faults aren't great and people are jumping to conclusions. To be honest your descriptions need far more detail. Find a knowledgeable mate, or mates mate, and let them have a test drive.

Failing that take it to a local garage and ask for a diagnosis, that does not need a commitment from you to let them repair it and they may even diagnose it for free and give an estimate for the repair.

These cars are easy to work on so it doesn't have to be a Peugeot specialist.

Why isn't my daughter an Alfaholic?
