currently considering getting shot of the quicksilver and getting myself a GTi (138) and the insurance is silly to say the least,though current provider are cheaper if i mod it,just wondering if there's any major difference in suspension as i might carry over the coilover/uprated rears and sell the quicky as standard bar the exhaust.
Sorry if it seems a silly question but the JOM (yes JOM and im happy with them haha) website is a bit vague lol.
Also any type-specific common issues to look for on the gti? probs between 2000-2002.

Wots a jom???and no specific 138 pronlems...and for the work invilved u might as well put new suspension from fk automotiv thats cheap...thats if u find a 138 that hasnt had suspensuon lowered already.

JOM is the brand of coilovers on the current pug,similair to FK etc,they're budget setup but not bad for the price. plan is to swap out,so the quicksilver is on stock shocks from the gti and gti is on the coilys,mainly because it reduces my insurance lol,gotta love adrian flux

I thought u were referin to your boyfriend or sumthing???and i got the bit about swapin the suspension thats why i suggest puttin new cheap on because new is just off then on...old swaps is off then off then on then on and thats assuming you have twice the tools to do it with...

twice the tools? how do you figure that? no tools need to remain on the car during the change except spring compressors on original shocks,coilys go in and out without the even if leave old topmounts in due to the rideheight i have it at. and an axle stand under each side as i do the work,which i have

Get some coilovers or shocks and springs that are for the gti your quicksilver will have a lighter engine so i can't imagine your jom coilovers would last that long to be honest.

u just answered yourself..spring compressors x2sets....and u really need the right susspension because it will soon drop to bits if its not made for the job.

I'd just look for ruined seats, rotten exhausts, corroded wheels and the other usual 206 dodgy bits.

i wasnt asking about tools needed,i was asking if the suspension on the gti is same as lower spec'd/engined models???
and FK arent exactly high end,there as budget as JOM,which are TUV'd and 2 year warranty,work well for what they are
