I thought of that. On these gates there's no direction arrows to give me a torsion direction. I did switch it round in case im missing the fact the name has to be in one direction to solve it....nope...same probably.

If I put all the new pulleys and tensioners in, runs off. If I put the old belt on the new parts its fine, it centres it self and runs fine although slapping it around.

Tension has been mentioned to me, but others say that its not that important.. but is it??? Seems there's a tool but no one uses it. Seems its to get the tension correct as not to allow the belt burn bearings and slap if too loose, of course, and been told as long as i get it correct by the old traditional rules of tensioning I dont need the tool its fine. Most say a dodgy belt....Gates...would be odd, but hay it happens.
