If you have the gauges I have described then you have the standard dash. If you have an oil temp gauge then someone has fitted a different dash from a higher spec car.

Sounds like replacement dash panel. Get a Haynes manual - it is easy to change the dash panel (even without a manual.)

Lower the steering wheel to lowest position. Starting at the bottom carefully prise off the panel surround. A single screw is revealed that holds the dash panel in place.

Thats rich coming from you!!

Milage in a pre plex will show on the dials to whichever is the greatest either on the new dials or ecu.

Basically if you ecu read 90k and new dials are 120k - it will show 120k
Again if the dials show 90k and the new dials show 40k - it will show 90k

Try and get lowest reading dials you can
Hopefully this solves it

That's my daughter's car then; thank goodness as I am not sure I would want the problems that plex brings.

I thought it was just the plexed models that had the anti clocking feature, and pre-plexed showed whatever was saved in the cluster.
