Hi all. My odometer display is not working 100% It displays only part of each number. I have checked the bulb etc no problems there. But I have heard that if the ribbons become creased sometimes it will display wrong.
So I have just taken a screen out of a 206 from a scrapyard. The ribbon is glued to the circuit board it's almost like a Sellotape glue. It unpeeled really easy. My question is... Is the problem with mine likely to be that the glue has half unstuck? I haven't had mine off yet to have a look but how would I go about re attaching it? I was hoping it would be soldered on or something but obviously not.
Anybody done any repairs like this? I would rather repair what I have instead of buying another set of clocks and getting the mileage reset. Thanks.

Pretty sure its been mentioned on here before with these non multiplexed clusters you can remove something from inside the cluster & swop it to a replacement cluster to keep the correct mileage.
Never done one myself so you will either have to have a search on the forum OR wait for someone thats had this same issue.

Oh bugger. I only took the screen. Was hoping to just replace that. Hopefully it can be stuck on again or something simple.

could you put a link up on for the thread about changing a part in the cluster to keep the same mileage as before?

Not found anything on the specific part that needs removing and re soldering to keep mileage on replacement clocks but I have managed to bodge mine together. Took the board off the back and my ribbon had started unsticking so wedged a bit of card behind it to keep the contact. May not be everlasting but hopefully will be good for a while.

I had the same problem à couple of months ago. I snapped the ribbon while repairing the Speedo/tacho. you can repair it while applying pressure on the ribbon when its well aligned. my problem was trying to keep the pressure! concerning faint readings, it has to do with the bulb.
