my 206 2L sometimes when i put the key in the ignition and the whole system just dies i wait about 2 mins check all doors are closed tight and with out the key the car does like a reset ie flashing red light on dash board,miles comes up, please tell me what this is

this happened to me it was the negative wire on the battery was loose i would check this first
