Hi Guys,
I am looking to do a service on my 206 this weekend (weather permitting) and just wondering what parts does everyone recommend?
Want to change oil/oilfilter, air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs.
Also I have noticed that two different types of oil filter are spec'd, paper cartridge and metal cannister. Can you tell me which one is for my 2004 '04' 1.4 8v car?

paper filter on yours, and as you said above could flush the coolant if you want to and maybe a pollen filter

wouldnt bother ever changing the fuel filter, they are self cleaning!

Depends if the filter is built into the pump or not doesn't it.

Ok thanks, will leave the fuel filter, what manufacturers are recommended? I have read that bosch spark plugs are preferred, but what about other items such as oil and filter?

I run NGK in mine, forums don't like them but they've never presented any running problems and are one of the biggest manufacturers. Bosch are good. Just make sure they are genuine which ever way you go.

So genuine filters are recommended? Called peugeot dealer and they are triple the price of the parts on euro car parts! :/

Air filter and oil filter are fine from euro or gsf. It's who I use. My last pollen filter from GSF was a slightly dodgy fit. ECP was fine though.
When I say 'genuine I mean be careful that you don't get some fake crap off a dodgy ebay seller and relates to the spark plugs

Oh right ok, think I will get the stuff off ECP tbh, its not genuine peugeot but there is a huge difference in price... :/

It's massive isn't it. Doesn't make it worth considering going to Pug parts unless they're specific items.

Genuine Peugeot / Citroen OR Purflux branded oil filter only

Check to see what fuel filter you have.
There is a oem Peugeot seller on ebay, I always get my filters from them, always cheaper than dealers as well.
Do you know when things like brake fluid and gearbox oils were last changed? Well worth keeping up to date as well. Also a good time of year to be checking hinges, and rear brake shoes/drums etc.

did the 1999 206 have a self cleaning fuel filter?

Thanks, planning of changing the brake fluid when i change the discs and pads in next couple of months.
